LUONG VAN CAN FOUNDATION HOLDS A PRACTICAL WORKSHOP ON BUILDING EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING THROUGH STRENGTHS AND RESOURCES

On May 9, 2026, the Luong Van Can Foundation organized the workshop “Building Emotional Well-Being Through Strengths and Resources,” facilitated by Ms. Vien Ngoc Uyen My, who has more than nine years of experience in science education and social-emotional learning (SEL). The program took place in an open, empathetic, and safe environment where students were encouraged to recognize their emotions and better understand their personal strengths and resources.

At the beginning of the workshop, Ms. Uyen My introduced the concept of the Resilient Zone, helping students understand that when they are pushed into the “Red Zone” (hyper-arousal, such as anxiety or restlessness) or fall into the “Blue Zone” (hypo-arousal, such as exhaustion or emotional shutdown), their ability to think clearly and solve problems can be significantly reduced.

Students then practiced grounding techniques, the 5-4-3-2-1 method, and breathing exercises designed to regulate the nervous system, enabling them to return from a state of anxiety to emotional balance. Beyond helping students manage stress, the workshop also guided them toward positive emotions through the “Resource Treasure” drawing activity and an exploration of their VIA Character Strengths.

In the final session, students clarified their personal aspirations by completing the WOOP model (Wish – Outcome – Obstacle – Plan). As the workshop concluded, students shared their reflections and recognized that the ability to regulate emotions and identify personal strengths and resources can help them maintain emotional balance and resilience in daily life.

The Luong Van Can Foundation would like to express our sincere appreciation to Ms. Uyen My for her valuable contribution to the program. We believe that the knowledge, tools, and practical techniques introduced during the workshop will support students as they continue their journey ahead.
