Luong Van Can Foundation Hosted Pitching Session for Community Project Program, Academic Year 2024–2025

On the afternoon of March 2, 2025, the Luong Van Can Foundation hosted the DORA FUND COMMUNITY PROJECT PITCHING PROGRAM for its students. Each project team had 10 minutes to present their ideas and 5 minutes to answer questions from the Funding Council—composed of mentors, invited guests, and partners of the Foundation. With cash support from “angel investors,” the Council considered appropriate funding levels for each group and shared insightful perspectives and practical advice to help the projects grow more effectively.

This year’s Dora Fund Community Project Program features 8 project teams:

  • “Tương lai xanh” (Green Future): A project aimed at raising awareness among students through a series of activities such as collecting used batteries, sorting and recycling waste, and hosting related workshops.
  • SAGE – Sexuality and Gender Education for Children: A project designed to create a safe space for children in care facilities to access knowledge about gender and sexuality.
  • Measuring TikTok Usage Frequency among Lương Văn Can Foundation Students: A research project to measure TikTok usage frequency among Foundation students, and to propose solutions to enhance engagement in Foundation activities while reducing social media dependence.
  • MPVI: A project supporting hearing-impaired students, which has received various community awards in previous years.
  • Developing a Sign Language-to-Text Website for the Hearing-Impaired: This project aims to develop an AI and deep learning application that can recognize sign language through images and convert it into text, thereby helping hearing-impaired individuals communicate more easily with society.
  • “Mầm xanh hy vọng” (Seeds of Hope): A project focused on improving life skills for children at Hope Village, especially those who are hearing-impaired.
  • LVC (Lắng nghe – Vun đắp – Chia sẻ): A project dedicated to providing educational support to children at the Can Tho Street Children’s Club.
  • Cham Project: A project created as a comprehensive channel providing scholarship information nationwide, tailored to target beneficiaries.

In addition to group projects, students of the Foundation also have the opportunity to intern at social organizations to gain practical experience and strengthen their skills in executing community initiatives. Through two main formats—team-based projects and social internships — the program aims to help students develop comprehensive skills such as project planning, execution, presentation, and community mobilization.

After the pitching session, teams will have approximately two months to implement their projects. The final review session is expected to take place in June 2025, where students will report their results to the Funding Council and the Foundation’s executive board.
