“INTERDISCIPLINARY THINKING” WORKSHOP – UNLOCKING A MULTI-DIMENSIONAL APPROACH FOR LUONG VAN CAN FOUNDATION STUDENTS
On Sunday morning, December 7, 2025, the Luong Van Can Foundation organized a sharing session titled “Interdisciplinary Thinking,” featuring guest speaker Hoang Pham Gia Khang – CEO of MakerLabVN Media Lab & Makerspace. Students expanded their perspectives on the intersection of different fields, forming a multi-dimensional approach to problem-solving.
To kick off the workshop, Mr. Gia Khang shared the story of “Ice Watch” by Olafur Eliasson, which explored the intersection of climate change, science, and art. Students realized while scientific data provides information, multi-sensory experiences are the key to resonating with emotions. He also emphasized that students need to break down disciplinary boundaries to develop interdisciplinary thinking and combine various fields to solve problems, especially in the context of the digital era.
Besides, students were introduced to Design Thinking as a method for creativity-driven problem-solving. Mr. Khang guided them in handling 3D-printed materials and sketching ideas for practical applications. Through this experiential activity, students learned how to balance Human Needs (Desirability), Technological Feasibility, and economic sustainability (Viability).
